Holiday Nightgowns from the Oliver + S Playtime Dress

There are a lot of wonderful things about Christmas morning.  When I was little, we couldn’t wait to come running down the stairs to see if Santa had visited.  But we had to.  At least until my father went downstairs first and set up the clunky video camera and got the regular camera ready.  We had to make sure the memories really would last a lifetime.  Because of that, of course we had to have on our Christmas pajamas.  Continue reading

Patriotic Popover Sundresses

It’s no secret that I adore Oliver + S patterns.  I have posted here about a few of my favorites, the Music Box Jumper and Sleepover Pajamas.  One of my go to patterns for a quick summer dress is the Popover Sundress.  This pattern is adorable, easy to assemble, very quick to sew and best of all, it’s FREE!  You can download the pattern here:  Oliver + S Popover Sundress.  Just in case that isn’t enough, there is a video tutorial available at Creative Bug that walks you through the whole project.  You can sign up for a free trial at Since July 4th is only a few days away, I decided to sew up patriotic versions of this dress.  The pattern doesn’t use much fabric, so I was able to use fabric from my stash.  I totally cheated on the straps and used pre-made bias tape.  It worked great and made it even quicker.  I think I made both of these including pattern assembly in under 3 hours. Sleepover Pajamas

A little while back, we had friends visit us for a sleepover.  With 4 girls under 4 it was a lot of fun!  Of course, I had to make them all matching sleepover pajamas so I went right to my trusty Oliver + S Sleepover Pajama Pattern.  I had made the pants from this pattern a few times but not the tops.  Even though I was sewing 4 pairs in 3 sizes at the same time, they were very easy and straight forward to put together.  I absolutely love the way they turned out.
