Fall Sewing Inspiration

cover

Now that the kids are back in school and the weather is cooling down, it’s time to think about fall sewing.  I am really determined to sew more clothes for myself.  One of my biggest issues is not knowing where to start and then getting easily overwhelmed with patterns and fabric choices.  This season, I tried to think about it in reverse.  If I were going shopping, what would I buy? So I hopped on the Internet and did some shopping!  Here’s a few of the looks I came up with.

I love this skirt and top from Loft!  I can see myself wearing the skirt all the time.

Top Fabric: Birch Floral Rayon from Les Fleurs by Anna Bond

Top Pattern: Cheyenne Tunic from Hey June

Skirt Fabric: Classic Smooth Denim

Skirt Pattern: Grainline Studio Moss Skirt

This look from Anthropologie could easily work for fall with some tights and boots!

Top Fabric: Infused Hydrangea Smooth Denim from Art Gallery Fabric

Top Pattern: Grainline Studio Archer Button Up

Skirt Fabric: Pretty Ditsy Dream from Lavish or Rosa Floral Navy from Les Fleurs

Skirt Pattern: Straight Stitch Designs Wedgewood Skirt

Although I like this dress from Banana Republic, I think I would get more wear out of these as separates.

Fabric: Soft Sand Premium Linen Blend

Top Pattern: Liola Patterns Madison Dress and Top

Skirt Pattern: Sew Caroline Picnic Skirt

I came across several denim shirt dresses like this one from J. Crew.  I think it would be great in a pink or print denim too!

Pattern: The Sanibel Dress and Romper from Hey June

I am a big fan of mixed media tops and saw them everywhere including these from Loft.

Wovens: Dress Stripe in Red, Lace in Bloom, Gemstone Navy Rayon

Patterns: Sew Caroline Downtown Tunic, Itch to Stitch Paulina Top, Straight Stitch Designs Bellevue Top

This is one of my favorites from J. Crew!
